Einstein is saying that if you have never made a mistake before then you haven’t done anything new.
He is saying that doing things wrong and making mistakes isn’t a bad thing, it is simply part of the learning process. In effect he is saying that the only person who has never made a mistake is a person who has never done anything, i.e. no one!
